WHAT ARE “LANGUAGE SCENES”?

They are a product line found in my store that includes a themed picture scene and activities (to use with the scene) that target many language goals! This makes them great for mixed groups or to reach many students on your caseload.

    I LOVE this resource. The variety is fantastic and even better since it’s no prep. I have used the Christmas, Summer, and Winter scenes so far. The conversation prompts were a little hard for some kiddos, but with some prompting and topic expansion, we could make it work. I have used this during teletherapy and face to face sessions. I laminated the language scene and the Question prompt sheet in the back. I use a sneeze guard in session and tape it to the window to see the back, which has helped. I also laminated the black in white one and use dry erase markers for coloring to save on paper.

I use this as a Tier 1 opportunity for language as students pass in the hallway (my room is across from the bathroom and is a very high-traffic area). The students love seeing the posters change monthly. If your school admin are agreeable to some slight talking in the hallway, I think using these speech & language scenes are an excellent opportunity for some hands-off RTI!

    I LOVE the Language Scenes Bundle! I use it every month in a push-in program I do in the ESN class. It targets many areas of language and in a fun, colorful way. I do a whole-class activity with the listening (following directions) component, that I expand on, focusing on sentence structure and expansion. Then we break into small groups and do “Centers” work with some of the other pages, working on various language areas there. It’s perfect for what I need with these students. The aides in the room appreciate the simplicity and ease of use. I chair one center area so the teacher can cruise the room, listening in at each center and freely observing her students. I highly recommend this product.
