The games are listed in order of suggested age use.

Q’s RACE TO THE TOP – $24.99
This is a board game designed for ages 3-10 designed specifically for working on social skills. There is an on-the-go version for you traveling therapists.

MY FEELINGS GAME – $29.95
A board game including 280 scenarios to help kids express and understand emotions. This game is best for beginning stages of understanding feelings and initiating conversations about how to cope with emotions. Ages 4 and up.

MAD DRAGON: AN ANGER CONTROL CARD GAME – $19.95
A must have game if you are working on anger control. The game is designed to practice effective anger management techniques. It allows opportunities to discuss what anger feels like and how to cope and express emotions appropriately. Ages 6-12.

TOTIKA SELF-ESTEEM GAME

This game is played like Jenga. When it is your turn, you take a block out of the tower and answer a card of the corresponding color. The questions revolve around self-esteem, social skills, and life skills. Ages 8 and up.

MIXED EMOTIONS: AN ACTIVITY FOR COGNITIVE-BEHAVIORAL THERAPY – $24.95
This game is appropriate for children, teens, and adults! The cards present a person in a situation, allowing for perspective-taking and empathy. The game goes beyond the basic emotions and dives into more complex situations and feelings. All ages.

Echolalia is actually a positive prognostic indica Echolalia is actually a positive prognostic indicator for autistic children! We don’t treat it this way most of the time even though it’s a communicative function for the individual. Instead of ignoring or trying to get a child to stop, we should try to shape the content into meaningful communication by teaching the meaning of the words or modeling appropriate language.
•
Echolalia is a repetition of another person’s spoken words. This often presents in a child quoting favorite movies or repeating a question directed towards them.

Want to know what the most horrific/best thing I e Want to know what the most horrific/best thing I ever did in therapy was?
Video myself.
😳😳😳
I realized I wasn’t giving enough wait time for my students. Turns out what feels like eternity after you ask a question, is really half a second. 😂 It took a lot of retraining to be ok with the quiet and not try to fill every moment with a teaching opportunity. Try counting to 10 before you jump in!

Have you ever filmed yourself in therapy? What was your biggest takeaway?
If you’ve never done it or it’s been awhile...do it!
