Fronting is a phonological error when velar or palatal sounds (/k, g/, ‘sh,’ ‘ng’) are substituted for alveolar sounds (/t, d, s, n/). For example, “tat” is substituted for “cat. ”

Only thought is that target words shouldn’t have the contrast sound in the word. For example, gate versus date….the T in gate can end up pulling that word into TATE. I probably didn’t explain this well.

This material was very helpful for working on the phonological processes of fronting and backing. It includes minimal pair cards, board games, and spinners that make the sessions more engaging for young children. The word choices are appropriate and easy to understand.

I used it with a child who had difficulty producing /k/ and /g/, and he really enjoyed the spinner game. As a SLP student, I found it easy to prepare and use in therapy.
