FAQ:

Is this different from the Speech-Language Development Handouts?

  • Yes, this is a different resource! The key difference is that this resource is organized by age and provides a concise overview of the skills acquired in each age group.
  • The Speech-Language Development Handouts are organized by skill area and go into much more depth with examples, terminology, and supporting research. They also contain other topics that aren’t associated with age milestones (hierarchies, stuttering, place-manner-voice and vowel charts, phonological awareness, etc.)
  • Both resources utilize the same milestones and research.

  197. Aubrey H.

I have loved other products from this store but this one wasn’t as useful as anticipated. It is a great resource for an SLP who wants to have a quick guide for what a child should be doing at each age. I would give it 4-5 stars if I was only using it for this purpose. I bought it specifically for parent handouts though and I feel like it is not very parent friendly. The terms used were too technical on a lot of sections and it was a bit too text heavy for a parent. I love how it is broken down by skill areas for each age group but it needed to be written in more parent friendly language in my opinion. Overall it is a good resource if being used by a professional but not great for parents.

  198. Jen C.

Good reference for SLPs. It’s also a good tool to use for parents but I have found that it requires varying levels of additional explanations. when I discuss milestones, it’s nice to show parents different areas all in one place.
